The Airplane controller is based on the Multi-Touch Everywhere technology (MUTE), and allows musicians to create Multitouch Musical Instruments with any flat surface, such as a table, a wall, an LCD screen, or even a semi-transparent projection screen suspended in the air for a great performance show!
Control interfaces are created using the Surface Editor, in order to send MIDI or OSC commands to your favourite audio softwares, plugins, synthesizers, sound modules, etc.
Visual feedback can be realized principally on three different ways:
- By using a grid drawn on a pad (ideal for playing with sticks).
- By printing the interface on a sheet of paper.
- By using an LCD screen or projecting an image (rear or front projection).
The Airplane controller exists in two versions, the Desktop version (left picture) and the Kit version, which is more suitable for creating custom controllers of variable sizes. To see an example of the Kit version being used with an LCD screen, click here.
The Airplane controller is documented in several videos available in the Video Gallery section.
Update: a new version of the Airplane controller has been realized. Check preview pictures here. |
